Engineering that endures.
Kesto Engineering partners with consumer product companies to design mechanical systems that perform under real-world use. From first concept through production-ready hardware.
Durability. Endurance. The capacity to hold up under sustained use.
This is the standard every design leaving our studio is measured against — the name is the promise.
Mechanical design services for hardware that has to work.
We work alongside product teams as an extension of their engineering group. We get hands-on, from early concept sketches to DFM-ready release packages.
Product Design & Development
Full mechanical design of consumer products: architecture, CAD modeling, tolerance stacks, and detailed drawings ready for manufacturing.
Design for Manufacturing
Design reviews and revisions that account for real production processes and cost targets, so tooling and assembly don't become surprises later.
Prototyping & Testing
Rapid functional prototypes and structured test plans to validate performance, fit, and function before committing to tooling.
Durability Engineering
Stress analysis, life-cycle testing, and failure-mode review focused on one question: will this hold up in the customer's hands?
A track record of innovation and a pipeline of what's next.
The mechanism changes. The standard doesn't. From child-safety hardware to high-volume kitchen appliances, Kesto's design work follows the same pattern: take on the hardest mechanical problem in the product, and solve it in a way that holds up in the real world, with more solutions already in the works!
Solving the Problem Nobody Else Solved
Some of the most valuable design work isn't refining an existing solution, it's the first workable answer to a problem the category hadn't cracked yet. That's the kind of challenge Kesto is built for: novel mechanisms, new installation methods, new approaches to reliability, developed from a blank sheet when the obvious answer doesn't exist yet.
Engineering to a Standard, Not Just a Spec
A drawing can be dimensionally perfect and still fail in someone's hands. Real design work means understanding how a product will actually be used and, where needed, working directly with industry bodies to help define what "safe" means for a category. 12 granted patents across child-safety and kitchen-appliance products reflect that same discipline applied again and again.
From Concept to Millions of Units
Ideas are the easy part. The work that matters is what happens from a sketch to millions of units. DFM/DFA, tolerance stacking, FEA, cycle testing, and the cross-functional grind of getting a design through manufacturing without losing what made it work in the first place.
Not just will this work, but will it still work in five years.
Named inventor on 12 granted patents spanning child-safety products and kitchen appliances. The same core skill applied across very different product categories: designing mechanisms people can rely on.
Why "Kesto."
Kesto Engineering was founded on a simple standard: a good design is one that lasts. The name comes from the Finnish word for durability and endurance; a nod to the founder's time spent in Finland, and to the engineering philosophy that carries through every project.
We bring over a decade of mechanical design leadership at leading consumer products companies. From experience being the technical lead on the Ninja Creami platform to mentoring teams through FEA, DFM/DFA, and reliability testing. That background spans standalone mechanical systems to fully integrated electromechanical appliances, with 12 patents along the way.
The Ninja Creami platform we helped lead didn't just ship, it became a certified design award winner and a genuine cultural moment, going viral on TikTok not just once but multiple times.
Every project starts from the same question: not just will this work, but will this still work in five years?
